God.

As much as God has greatly revealed Himself through Christ and even lives in His people through His Spirit and is known and understood by the accounts told in His word, the Bible, there are still wondrous unimaginable marvelous aspects of Almighty God in which is not known to us, not now, not here.

Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Elijah… these and others were, as the scriptures revel, close to God in the understanding that the Lord spoke to them often (Moses “face-to-face”) and reveled great mysteries to them using them in mighty ways. Yet still, even they didn’t know the half, so to speak, of the revelation of God.

Christ’s apostles, particularity John, Peter and James, were as close to God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, as anyone ever was while He was here on the earth in human form. They rested their heads on Him, they walked with Him, ate with Him, ministered with Him, learning and watching and listening and receiving from God. Yet still, even they and, Paul the apostle by the will of God, did not know God fully. None here on the earth has ever and will never know God fully, understand God fully. None. Not me, not you.

Paul wrote,

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

When Christ the Lord Jesus reveled Himself in His glory to John, John’s response was…

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

John was in great and awesome fear, holy and reverence, after seeing Jesus standing before him in His glory. How frightening. How wonderfully terrible and awe-striking to have seen God Almighty in His glory. And that’s just seeing Him.

“Lift your eyes up. God is greater than what you think He is. Whatever you can see, Christ is greater. The vision you have of Christ is crucial. It’s has to effect the way you live out you life. Effect your love for Him. Effect your obedience to Him. Effect your priorities. The bigness and smallness of what God has created is overwhelming. Not just above but even in all things, filling all things, the ant and the great white shark, the stars and sand, with meaning.” – Discover the Word

Lift your eyes up and let it filter down inside your being that God is God. How do you explain God or come to some kind of understanding? His name. I AM.

Christ Jesus, “…the one who fills all things in every way.”

Breathe. The worlds do not revolve around you. They revolve around God.

Breathe. You are alive. Live in Christ.

Breathe. He is as near as He is far. Wonder in Him.

Breathe. Delight and take great comfort and joy in what is known of God and, that which is unknown of Him be still stand back and know that He. Is. God.

What Shall We Do?

The whole harvest doesn’t make it to the market – not every fruit that bears are good

During the time when John, being used of God, went baptizing many with water, he preached saying, “…bring forth fruits worthy of repentance…” The message was clear. If in fact those who were being baptized were doing so out of a true heart’s change and desire to now follow the Word of God in their hearts, their lives should in turn mirror that reflection.

Ever heard of the numerous accounts of kids behaving rudely while defending their behaviour by referencing whom their parent is. You know, the kid whose parent is the principle of the school, the judge of the courtroom, the driver of the school bus, and the leader of the cookie club and the coach of the team. Well I know it all too well. In fact, I was that kid.

Years ago when my mom drove for Charterways school bus company, she would at times, park the 45-foot yellow bus in our neighbourhood. Despite her tireless efforts and warnings to keep us (my sister, our friends and I) out of the bus, we’d gladly find our way in. It was an imagination of fun. We spent hours playing all sorts of pirate and captain, sinking ship, lost island games and, on occasion someone would muster up enough courage to honk the horn! Many times after declaring, “THIS IS MY MOM’S BUS” I’d kick other kids off for whatever reason I it thought necessary. If she knew what I was up to she would have kicked me off too.

It’s old news. And John addressed it when he went baptizing. When he told the people to bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, he also right after said “…And begin not to say within yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as to our Father.’”

Understand this, the fruits of your life, as the scriptures say, will testify of yourself. They’re either good fruit or not good fruit and, “…every tree therefore which brings forth not good fruit is hewn (cut) down, and cast into the fire.”

WHAT SHALL WE DO?

Three groups of people who heard and saw and believed all that he ministered asked this question of John, WHAT SHALL WE DO?

The People: “What shall we do then?” John: “He that has two coats, let him impart to him that has none; and he that has meat, let him do likewise.”

The Publicans: “Master, what shall we do? John: “Exact no more than that which is appointed you.”

The Soldiers: “And what shall we do?” John: “Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.”

This question, What shall we do, is good for us now even as it was for generation to generation since then because we must bear fruit worthy of our new life in Christ.

Just ask, Lord, what shall I do?

Ask Christ with your whole heart knowing and believing that He, just as John did give an answer, will surly revel to you what you shall now do.

Amen.

Heavenly Father, King of kings, Most High, bless you Lord. Bless you name and be you lifted up above all in our lives. You have called us Lord and by your Spirit you have taken us unto you. And now great One, Rock of our salvation, I pray you Lord, reveal to those who will ask of you ‘What shall I do?’ Lord apart from you we can do nothing – not a thing. Nothing God. You and you alone have created all things for you and to you and through you. So now Christ I pray let your people know what now they must do. And by your goodness and truth cause us to do just that with joyful hearts because we rejoice in the delight of our God.

Glory be to you my King and my God.

In Christ Jesus I ask all this O’ Lord my refuge.

Read Luke chapter 3 and may the Lord Jesus direct you of what you shall do.

What He Wants

Wasteful gifts

Have you ever received a gift? Ever? And was it something you’d been hoping for? Something you’d been deeply desiring? Deeply yearning for? Something you either wanted or needed or both?

Did you get it? Was it the exact thing that was in the beautifully wrapped box with the glamours curly coloured ribbon dangling from a tightly secured bow? Huh? Did you ever get a gift that was exactly what you wanted?

If so, well done to whoever gave the gift. Right? Right! Well done.

But some gifts aren’t always so accepted, in the heart that is. Sure, we’ll probably say a big “THANK YOU!” We’ll probably say it a few times, “Thank you, thank you so much.” Even if a gift isn’t what you had in mind or something strange or all together ugly or simply not your style, or taste, you’ll more times than not, accept it not to upset the one offering the gift.

Fine.

But not so with God.

A few weeks ago the Holy Spirit reveled to me the desire of His heart for me and, I’m most certain, for you as well.

You see, there was something that I had so terribly desired in my heart to do for God in His name. It was going to be an expression of my love and honour and gratitude and, did I say my love for Him? Yes. I had planned to do something so over-the-top, stunningly beautiful and graciously humbling. It would have cost thousands if not millions of dollars. Yet no matter the costs I wanted to do this for God. I wanted all my guests to know that He is my help, that He is God, the He is worthy. I wanted so greatly to honour Christ before men and bless the people.

But He said NO.

The Holy Spirit reveled the truth and the fullness of what God desires of me, of us.

“Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.” ISAIAH 66:1-2

All these things that I had so hoped to do as a joy unto God was not and is not a gift He cares for. NOT AT ALL. Plainly as the scriptures says, He has made all things, so what would I truly be giving Him but that of what is already His? Everything is His. Everything and everyone. He has rule over all that is His. And, here’s the thing, anything that I would possibly think to give is from here, earth, which as we read, is His footstool.

Done.

No more plans to give God a gift He doesn’t care for, a gift He won’t receive from me. But He did say what He would accept. What He does care for from you and I. Yes, even you and I have something of ours He is desiring from us.

Our heart. Our honour. Our trembling at His word.

Our poor and contrite heart. Our empty and sorrowful and remorse heart for a sin we commit against Him. He desires that we desire to do right and walk uprightly as He is right. And, not if but when we do sin and behave wrongly, He wants us to acknowledge the truth and turn our heart in humility that we are guilty but that He is merciful should we come before this throne of grace to receive His mercy and find grace by faith in the name of the Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Our honour to His Holy name.

Our trembling at the very words of Almighty God given to us, even us as wicked as this world is, is still to this very day being spoke to by Christ. Yet who will consider the voice of God?

This is what God almighty wants from all His children who are called according to the hope of His calling.

To say the least, this has now become my hearts prayer and my minds desire. Lord, cause me to give you what you want. My heart. Poor and contrite before you. Broken and empty without you. Honour you most holy name that is above every name ever named and, to fear that you have spoken and do speak that I might take heed and cling to every single word.

May you give Him what He wants. Because remember, no matter how decorated the package may be, it’s what’s inside that’s being given. It’s what’s inside that will be judge all the more.

Glory to God in the highest. Great and terrible things has He done.

“For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”

PSALM 51:16-17

If Any Man

Stay close to someone and you will learn their ways. You will see and hear their ways. You will come to the knowledge of who they truly are. Their behaviours will be understood by you should you follow them around and around and around. Their secrets, revealed to you. Their heart, made known to you. Their ways, consider by you. Should you hang around someone long enough you will know what others do not know. You will see what others cannot see. You will hear what others have not heard.

Should you follow someone you will be where they are. You will take note and stalk of their teachings, their sayings, their language, their style. Their influence you will adapt. Their life will greatly effect you.

Jesus Christ says if any man should serve Him, the same is to follow Him so that He and they are always together. And, that where Jesus goes He will always have one to do His works in a given moment. Amen. He also revels that the one who would serve Him, the Father would honour. Glory.

This is certain. The Father will honour them who serve Christ by following Christ.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Expect a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abide alone: but if it die, it bring forth much fruit. He that love his life shall lose it; and he that hate his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.” JOHN 12:24-26

Faithful Father, Strengthen My Inner Man

Peace and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be to you and your house

Precious saints of God Almighty, called to God by the Spirit of Christ, be not weary but hold fast to that which is true. Remember the new water in which you came. The new life in which by faith in Jesus our Lord, you have been born again. Remember the promises of our King, remember His ways and walk by them. Do not grow weary, but by faith, work the works of Christ remembering the times. We are not alone. I pray the strength of the Spirit of truth be multiplied to you. I pray we are growing in all the fullness of our God, Jehovah and, that we are wise to do what is pleasing and right in the sight of God. Be then good to each other, speaking what is true by the grace that has been given of you in a measure as a gift from the Father of our Lord.

Amen.

Pray before the Lord our God, remembering all saints everywhere. May there be unity in Christ’s One body, and might we see the glory of God here in the land of the living. Be full of hope that others might turn and return to the Lord their Maker. I have seen and heard of the spread of the goodness. Peace to you in Christ Jesus.

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:14-19
