Obedience.

“To love is to do.”

This is a true saying. A very true saying indeed. I have desired greatly to love the Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart, all my mind, all my strength and all my soul…just as He commands us and reveals to us that this is the greatest command of all. Yes, this command has been my single most sought after desire — to love God.

And to love Him, He made it clear to me after I had neglected a work He gave me to complete, is to obey. Obey Him.

Hear

Hear what the Lord says. Hear with your heart. Hear with you mind. Hear with you ears. Hear with your eyes. Hear what God said and what He will say to you.

Believe

I have recently understood that the ‘great’ men of faith that I often hear about in regards to the scripture Hebrews 11, are not great at all. Truly it was and is God’s greatness that is so admirable and such a wonder and strength. These men were as we are this day, men. It was their faith, as the passage details, that worked. Truly they believed what God said, what God promised, what God declared. They Believed And what they did and did not do, proved it, (their faith – belief of what God spoke).

Believe what the Lord has said and what He will say to you. And after you have heard and believed, do.

Do

Doing is the part that measures your love. Not what you feel. Do whatever you have heard from God. Give to it life as He so leads and gives grace and power and strength to do.

Jesus said, if you love Him keep His commands. Jesus said blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it.

The Spirit of Almighty God leads and instructs in the way that you should go and, He will guide you with His eye but, you must DO as you have HEARD.

Finish

Bring to a completion what you have heard and what you have set out to do by Christ, in Christ, for Christ. Determine in you heart and pray the God of heaven and earth be your help and your refuge, that indeed for His glory the task(s) in which He sets before you is completed just as He ordained it to be.

Finally,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Domain

Own. Reign. Rule. Lead. God’s kingdom is not over a piece of land or a territory that can be seen or touched.

God’s kingdom…

…the kingdom of God is with you.

Jesus, the Kingdom of God.

And when He was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation: Neither shall they say, Look here! or Look there! for, behold, the Kingdom of God is with you.

A Just God and a Saviour

The God of all creation is a just and righteous God. This means His verdict is a true and right verdict. His ruling stands and whatever He decides as a sentence is indeed justice. Likewise, this same God is a Saviour. Even saving His creation made in His likeness (like parents and children look-a-like) from His true and right judgement, which is a sentence of death for any sin committed against Him. Not death in the body alone but agonizingly death of our spirits. I can imagine the death of a body, we see it often but, that of your spirit, how horrifically sorrowful.

Here and Now:
His saving hand He reaches out long before His hand of justice. And it’s reaching out to you. Now. Grab hold of His offer of salvation from death of your spirit to life of your spirit by believing and coming to the understanding that Jesus is God and that He came into this world to do just that, taken your sentencing of death for your sins. Yet through His rising from the grave you rise too.

Saviour:
God is saving those who receive His Son Jesus Christ. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is God. Ultimately He is saving us from His own wrath, from the appointed day when He will deliver His verdict and then the sentence of that verdict, death death death. But now and first He offers a way to escape death and instead life life and life forever!

Choose:
“Look to Me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by Myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.”

– Isaiah 45:22-23

One day He is coming. Don’t wait for that day when you will believe because then it will be too late.

I pray you choose life. And choose now.

What Shall We Do?

The whole harvest doesn’t make it to the market – not every fruit that bears are good

During the time when John, being used of God, went baptizing many with water, he preached saying, “…bring forth fruits worthy of repentance…” The message was clear. If in fact those who were being baptized were doing so out of a true heart’s change and desire to now follow the Word of God in their hearts, their lives should in turn mirror that reflection.

Ever heard of the numerous accounts of kids behaving rudely while defending their behaviour by referencing whom their parent is. You know, the kid whose parent is the principle of the school, the judge of the courtroom, the driver of the school bus, and the leader of the cookie club and the coach of the team. Well I know it all too well. In fact, I was that kid.

Years ago when my mom drove for Charterways school bus company, she would at times, park the 45-foot yellow bus in our neighbourhood. Despite her tireless efforts and warnings to keep us (my sister, our friends and I) out of the bus, we’d gladly find our way in. It was an imagination of fun. We spent hours playing all sorts of pirate and captain, sinking ship, lost island games and, on occasion someone would muster up enough courage to honk the horn! Many times after declaring, “THIS IS MY MOM’S BUS” I’d kick other kids off for whatever reason I it thought necessary. If she knew what I was up to she would have kicked me off too.

It’s old news. And John addressed it when he went baptizing. When he told the people to bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, he also right after said “…And begin not to say within yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as to our Father.’”

Understand this, the fruits of your life, as the scriptures say, will testify of yourself. They’re either good fruit or not good fruit and, “…every tree therefore which brings forth not good fruit is hewn (cut) down, and cast into the fire.”

WHAT SHALL WE DO?

Three groups of people who heard and saw and believed all that he ministered asked this question of John, WHAT SHALL WE DO?

The People: “What shall we do then?” John: “He that has two coats, let him impart to him that has none; and he that has meat, let him do likewise.”

The Publicans: “Master, what shall we do? John: “Exact no more than that which is appointed you.”

The Soldiers: “And what shall we do?” John: “Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.”

This question, What shall we do, is good for us now even as it was for generation to generation since then because we must bear fruit worthy of our new life in Christ.

Just ask, Lord, what shall I do?

Ask Christ with your whole heart knowing and believing that He, just as John did give an answer, will surly revel to you what you shall now do.

Amen.

Heavenly Father, King of kings, Most High, bless you Lord. Bless you name and be you lifted up above all in our lives. You have called us Lord and by your Spirit you have taken us unto you. And now great One, Rock of our salvation, I pray you Lord, reveal to those who will ask of you ‘What shall I do?’ Lord apart from you we can do nothing – not a thing. Nothing God. You and you alone have created all things for you and to you and through you. So now Christ I pray let your people know what now they must do. And by your goodness and truth cause us to do just that with joyful hearts because we rejoice in the delight of our God.

Glory be to you my King and my God.

In Christ Jesus I ask all this O’ Lord my refuge.

Read Luke chapter 3 and may the Lord Jesus direct you of what you shall do.

Forever He will Be

The Chief Corner Stone

Glory in the Lord your God maker of all things! Blessed is he whose God is the Lord. For forever Jesus Christ himself is the chief corner stone. The stone, the Rock, the head, holding together the building fitly framed together, as we grow unto a holy temple in the Lord our God.

Make your praise loud! Boast mightily in the Lord God of all creation. Let His praises be made known in the congregation. Let His people rejoice in the Lord their God, who at countless times have shown forth His great mercies and faithfulness unto the just and unto the unjust.

Marvelous are your ways my God o’ King of kings. Great is your faithfulness. And rich are you my Lord, rich are you in mercy. Be thou our God and we your people. Let us call upon your name in truth. Clothe us in your garments of praise and thanksgiving. Teach us your ways my Lord that we might walk in the Light of truth and holiness and your peace. Make us to know and understand the hope of your calling that our hearts might not turn from you. Blessed O’ Lord my God, blessed are they who trust in your goodness, who depend upon your help. They shall not be made ashamed. I, oh God of my life, I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of you, here in the land of the living. Set forth your ways before your people. Let us be thou released from all that burden us and stand against us that we would not gather to worship you in the spirit and in the truth according to thy word Most High. Set us free from every stronghold over and in us. Your people must be made to worship you. For what other name can man be saved? and who other is the maker of man? and to whom is the might of our praises due? You, my Father in heaven, you alone are God and there is not one other. No, not one.

Bless us my God, and let not the building of your holy temple be stopped, but give unto us all the power and wisdom and strength and resources and courage to finish the task which you lay upon the hearts of your people. And let the name of your Son, Jesus the Christ, be exalted in the nations, in our homes, in the church, and in the mouths of them whose God is the Lord. May the hearts of our children not turn from you, but may they come unto the full understanding of your salvation and render themselves unto your mighty and gracious hand, O’ Lord our Father.

Amen. Glory.

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone, in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord. In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
